"If we don't take care of them, who will?" ~Ty Towriss

As part of the Lovinggood Community Restoration Unit (LCRU), we have a group of volunteers comprised mainly of residents whose homes adjoin the Lovinggood Family Cemetery, and other residents who desire to maintain the cemetery grounds out of respect for the history and preservation of the heritage that has been transferred now to our community. These residents have decided to undertake the task of arresting the overrun of nature's growth and combating deterioration of the site, working both solely and jointly to clean up and maintain the fencing and the overall upkeep of the cemetery grounds.

"We would like to restore that cemetery to be a respectable place again. It is a peaceful place of reflection, and hopefully one day beauty. We imagine a day when we will clearly see marked where the 66 souls are buried, and be able to form a casual walking path that will weave through the grounds and prevent treading on the grave plots." ~ Ty Towriss

The cemetery was deeded over to the Lovinggood HOA in 2001. It is considered common area and requires the attention and maintenance of the homeowners if it is to be kept up. Rather than increase HOA dues higher than they are, LCRU and the HOA BOD are attempting to raise funds through charitable donations. Please click here to learn more how you can help.

People with family members laid to rest on Lovinggood Cemetery Hill are allowed by law to visit the cemetery grounds through an entrance on the west side. Beyond the family, the HOA residents are entitled to regulate who if anyone is granted access.
